A Holiday Break…

In case you haven’t heard, KFAN has decided not to air “Packer Preview” this Sunday, Week 17. I guess they just couldn’t handle an hour of discussion about the 2019 NFC North champs.

To take full advantage of my weekend off, I’ve decided to take the family on a holiday vacation overseas, so I’m going to unplug until we get back on 1/3. I’ll update this blog before wildcard weekend, if the Pack stumbles on Sunday, otherwise following the weekend and looking ahead to the divisional round.

“Packer Preview” will return on KFAN the next weekend the Packers play. I’ve been told the Fan will be over it by then. Happy Holidays everybody and Go Pack!

I miss listening to you on the way to church and then I sit in the car until you’re done. Go Pack! I messaged a friend, a Viking fan, after the game. He grumpily said “I don’t follow football that much.”

  2. OLD SOUTH SIDE GUY says:

Davy: Have a great trip with your family. I am confident you all will enjoy. GO PACK GO !!

  3. Bud Grant says:

My whining pussy Greg’s post from September 29th “the Vikings suck but will still finish ahead of the Pack, you do realize this right, after next week we will both be 3-2 and we still get to spank you at TCF,you’re supposed to be the legendary franchise “ that was a lot of stupid comments ago,in all my years Greg I never got embarrassed like that,it was ugly!! Greg I understand all the envy of Green Bay,they are the better and smarter franchise,I’m glad I quit it’s hard to achieve that success, hope you’re okay, another losing season is almost over.

Even though there’s no blog this week this game deserves some analysis and comment nevertheless. THC can take the week off but the Packers can’t. I’m a little surprised that the fan base seems so blase about this week and I certainly hope that spirit isn’t among the Pack themselves. So much boundless opportunity has opened up by Monday night’s win that it would be devastating to follow it up with an upset loss. The Kittys have been the Pack’s most difficult opponent in the NFC North in recent seasons. The Pack is 5-1 against Da Bears, 2-3-1 vs The Vikes (but 3-3 is more accurate) but only 1-4 since 2017 against the Lions. With and without Aaron Rodgers the Packers have struggled with a club they once dominated. Their lone win earlier this year was a 1 pointer that honestly they were fortunate to have won. Detroit has put up 30 or more points on GB in 4 of the last 5. The Packers haven’t managed more than 23. Fortunately the man most responsible for giving the Pack fits, Matt Stafford, won’t be in this game. Still, Matt Patricia’s defense has played the Packers tough and well. Though they’re finishing out a season hugely below their hopes they should have motivation. Pride. Jobs futures. If they can put a big hurt on the Packers I’m sure they’ll gladly take it. The Packers’ best and perhaps only path to Miami in February is to play all their playoff games at Lambeau in January. They can secure that or lose it on Sunday. Seattle’s loss to the Cardinals – at home- last week should be a cautionary example of what can happen if you overlook or underestimate a losing opponent playing out the string. This is really a BIG game. This is a MUST win for the Packers.

I hear you Packerlifer, all the talking heads and Packer fans act like this is done deal. Have they not watched as you say the last 5 games? Not having Stafford hurts them, But kerryon Johnson is back, and I know WR Jones is out. BUT, Golladay could get 200 yards and 3 by himself, He has killed the Packers no matter who is on himn. I think they will start out slow and that is exactly what the Packers cant do. The longer the game is close and crowd is in it, the more the Lions will think there in it to win and kill the Packers hopes. This is there super bowl. We need to get off to fast start and then they may lay down some. And the Smith boys and Clark can go to work. I see it as Rodgers break out game since Oakland game. 320 and 3 Td’s is what we may need to win. 31-20 Packers.

I was just thinking I was going to have to write something, but Packerlifer and Larry have taken care of it. There will be no lack of motivation after this week. It is up to LaFleur and his staff to instill that urgency in the team for Sunday’s game. Some guy once said something like, “We play on Sundays for free. I get paid to do the stuff during the week, but Sundays are for free.” The idea is that you love the game. We are about to see how much heart these Champions have. The North is not enough. I like that. I hate “Kings of the North” , just don’t like it. Let’s Play. 27 – 17 Packers. Go Pack Go!

  7. Jim from Eden Prairie says:

I turned on KFAN at 7:00 a.m. expecting to hear Packers Preview. No problem because I found you here. I was born and raised in Green Bay. I am a Packers stockholder and season ticket holder. The playoff tickets arrived in my mailbox on Christmas eve. Go Packers!

  8. Greg says:

I’m amazed Dave how you were here all year for your shows. Your kids came first and were in tournaments for the past few years all the time. You missed a ton of Saturdays due to family obligations. I’m just glad you could finally get a family thing in this year forced by KFAN. Did your kids quit playing tournaments or something? Dave, you’ve been a poser for years on this and now you want to nut up and have your shows. Why of course! LULZ

  9. Purple troll says:

Greg I just knew you were the type, pick on a guy for taking his kids and wife on a Christmas vacation, what a jerk and especially a big asshole, typical Vikings fan, stupid mudduck!!

  10. Greg says:

Dave has missed show after show after show when the packers aren’t winning or the Vikings beat them. He has had a lot of experience the last fews years. This year, he doesn’t miss shows and is pissed when he does. If Dave wants to deny this, I’d love to hear him comment so I can laugh.

  11. Purple troll says:

You’re the laugh Greg,it’s his show and plus it’s a packers site, why are you even on it,go on the Vikings site and whine with the rest of the mudducks, you think anyone cares about you,Idiot, are you in junior high with the LULZ?

  12. Elroy from Elroy says:

Start your own show Greg,Vikings Whine Line 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂!!!

  13. Purple troll says:

Ha good one Elroy, but the show would have to be six hours long to get all the whining phone calls on!!

  14. Greg says:

Barreiro said he is going to look into KFAN doing this. He said screw what management thinks. So the Bear fan radio guy is going to check on what happened to the packer fan radio guy. Only on KFAN, everyone. Only on KFAN.

  15. Purple troll says:

Who cares Greg ya idiot, don’t listen to KFAN and don’t come on this site,we’d all be better off,it’s not life or death it’s entertainment ya idiot,KFAN is owned by I Heart Media, barriero works for them ya idiot, like he’s going to do something about it,Maybe Carl Gerbschmidt can help you ya idiot!! Jeez

  16. Lynndickeyfan says:

IMHO, Gregg is not a typical Vikings fan. I lived in the Twin cities for nearly twenty years and most Vikings fans are with some light hearted banter. They good people and good sports. No, Gregg doesn’t appear to be either of these. Gregg, the person you are online is the person you are in real life. I suggest you reexamine what kind of person you are. I wish better for you, better than this.

  17. WendyfromWaseca says:

Touché lyndickeyfan,There is something wrong with Greg, I suspect lots of pent up envy and jealousy, thanks for the nice comments about the rest of us!!

  19. lynndickeyfan says:

So here we go, We get to watch the Saints vs. Viking and Seattle vs. Philly. I don’t know how you feel about it, I’m pulling for the Vikings to beat the Saints. Yes, I’d rather play Seattle or Philly than the Saints. Also though, how sweet would the possibility of a Vikings/Packers NFC Championship game be!? Yes the Vikings would have to beat the 49ers too, but still, what fun! Quite frankly as long as the Patriots don’t make it to the Superbowl I’ll be happy. I’m so bored with them being in it. So what do you think? Do you want to play the Saints and have the Vikings loose their playoff appearance or would you rather they win and the Packers play Seattle or Philly?

  20. larry says:

LDF, I thought of that too. Living here NW Wisconsin, and all we get is minny stations. I hope they lose. a lot more fun. whine line was great yesterday again, they did not want to play the saints. they wanted us. I feel the saints are like the Packers, HOF qb, 1 great wr. and great rb, The difference is they have the TE we used to have. Defenses are about the same, so it would be turnovers again, no matter who we play. Fun fact. The lions, were never behind in 2 games vs, the Packers this year, until final play, think about that. We won both games at the gun. Before us Packer fans complain about winning ugly, even though 12 was close to my predictions, 1 td off, he was really off on 7 throws again, not sure what is going on there, especially inside the dome. My buddy wants the vikings in championship game too. I don’t. They would have everything to gain and nothing to lose. And if we did lose. I would have to listen to that for 2 weeks and all summer.. As I watched the other games, I sure wish we would have draftee the guys I wanted, T.J watt, instead of King, even though I had pick right, was not happy. Lockett, instead of Montgomery, OT Dillard instead of gary. Schobert MLB browns , instead of Fackrel. Led the league in tackles last 2 years, Our guy 50 will win that this year. They did get Ervin now, who has really helped on special teams, I wanted him 4 years ago in 6th rd. Kamara in 2nd rd, instead of Josh Jones. Last year I said take A.J brown wr titans, or Samuel wr. niner’s,with 30th pick Savage has done OK, but would loved to have one of them instead. how would they look on this team now? I missed a lot too, mind you,.But these guys would have been nice to have. They did get Aaron Jones so that helped. last one that really kills me . is I wanted Diggs in 6th rd, the year Vikes took him in the 5th.. Him and 12 could have made some hay. Not just preaching here., You can look it up in the archives,Enjoy the playoffs. Go Packers.

  21. Purple troll says:

Hey Greg we got away with an obvious pass interference against New Orleans in overtime, have Paul Allen call the NFL,Like you say, jobs are at stake, not fair to the fans,You’re a huge IDIOT!!!

  22. PackerTroll says:

Purple Troll – late to the party here but if you have watched any football games that have not been given away by the refs you will understand why it wasn’t offensive PI. The NFL didn’t even decide to review it and the head of officiating said it was a good no-call. If you are still crying a bit, just look at the CB holding him while the ball was in the air. Vikes did you a favor though, you have a reasonable matchup against a very injured team and won’t have to try keeping up with NO’s 40 points per game. We all know Sharon is getting a little old for the shootouts.

  23. lynndickeyfan says:

Well as THC take his sweet time formulating his Packers vs. Seahawks opinion, I shall shoot from the hip. Defensively we most control the pocket. We can not allow Wilson to escape the pocket between him running or extending plays. Gap controlled rush. Offensively, I think we can run the ball. If Rodger can just be a wee bit more accurate than he was last week, we may be able to throw too. I expect Seattle to blitz some. The key offensively will be getting Rodgers to the line with enough time to make good decisions. Run the ball, develop a short passing game. Don’t miss.
